The Body Shop | Love Etc... Collection

The Body Shop quotes Love Etc... as being:

'Our irresistible fragrance in a lasting Eau de parfum. A heart-stopping fusion of jasmine, vanilla and sandalwood notes

I know some people found it a bit too in your face but I instantly fell in love (excuse the pun) for this fragrance. I love perfume but had found most were starting to smell the same. I went on a bit of a perfume journey trying to find new and amazing indie and artisan perfumes; I did find some amazing creators on Etsy and of course, BPAL and Possets.

I vowed I would never go back to commercial perfumes but stumbled upon Love Etc... by mistake while reading a glossy magazine. Pulling back the sniffy tab I was curious as the design looked different for a Body Shop fragrance, I admit I am complete and utterly weak when it comes to packaging.

Swiping the page over my wrists I was hooked. I'm not even joking when I say I put down that magazine and headed straight to The Body Shop website and ordered the 30 ml sized bottle. Stupidly I now realise I should have ordered the 50 ml as it costs £18 whereas the 30 ml is £14 *palms head*

It arrived in around five days and after sniffing it once again I had an 'ah' moment, you know the one you get when smelling something that's so incredible - This scent really felt like it belonged to me, it wasn't overpowering and I suppose I can only describe it as being womanly, sexy and confident but with a delicacy to it that makes the notes seem really smooth. It could definitely be worn both during the day and at night.

They say that if you apply perfume and then it smells really strong on you that it's not the scent for you personally. Apparently, it's due to how the notes sit with your body chemistry. This worked really well for me as it dissipated quite quickly but didn't disappear. Every time I took off my jacket or cardigan I got lovely hits of fragrance just reminding me that yup I still smelled awesome.

Since purchasing the 30 ml, I've since added the body butter and lovely little solid perfume in a heart tin container. Hubster loves this scent so much that he now happily gives me massages with the body butter without grumbling. Win-win all around eh.

This scent definitely makes me feel happy, calm and grounded as well as confident. I definitely get affected by what I wear and yes that also includes my perfume and make-up. I was asked by a few friends and some work colleagues what scent I was wearing which never happens normally, it definitely gives you a boost of confidence when people are asking you what it is that you've got on doesn't it?

My bottles due to run out soon, I've worn it every day for the last seven months. £14 for seven months perfume usage is amazing isn't it. If you're not a fan of perfumes then I would recommend the body butter or body lotion to test out the scent. It also layers really nicely with the rest of the collection.

You can pick up these products both in-store and online at The Body Shop website here.
