Nina Ricci Resort 2014

Nina Ricci Resort 2014

Peter Copping stated that his inspiration behind this resort was 'She's a Parisian headed south,' ' She's fed up with the bad weather and craving summer clothes and sun.'

I can totally relate to that in the most part. I for one am craving summer clothing and sun and can see the influence Coppings statement has on the overall collection. Showing this resort collection in an intimate show in New York  the presentation didn't match the perfect look of the collection.

Sophistication, femininity and a definite Parisian dose of glamour all make up the personality of this collection. It's fun, girly but also flirty in the sense that it let's you look sophisticated but still young. Crisp white fabrics with hints of eyelet fabrics, radzimir, slinky satins and yellow and purple tones. Ruffles, tweeds, sexy silhouettes and flared hems all give that extra va-va voom and stop this from swaying into a child like collection.

Coppings resort for Nina Ricci is another one that is easily transferable between seasons. I can see the black flared trench jackets teamed with the richer purple tonal draped dresses, the crisp white teamed with the stark black and the yellow warmed with the pops of pinks that are found throughout this collection.

This collection is one of my favourites and although it still doesn't remotely match my love for the Ralph Lauren 2014 resort it definitely takes pride of place within my passionate- fashion heart.

What's your take on this pre-collection? Is it a winner or do you find the eclectic tones a let-down?
