Music & The Emotional Journey : Power

I'm not sure if this is me being daft but I find certain songs all tug on certain parts of my psyche. I can listen to a play list and be taken from weepy teary reminiscing about those I love or miss to being so pumped up that I feel like a strong confident woman. Does anyone else find this?

Have you ever felt like you could tell your life-story through music or certain songs? I know that some songs evoke personal memories for some people, maybe a song that played when you were a child, that song you danced to at your first disco or at your wedding or a song that played when you had that major tiff with your bff. But do you still get these types of emotions with songs you have only heard for the first time?

Let me take you on a musical journey. For this post I'm going to focus on 'Power' these song make me feel powerful, strong like it's a dog eat dog world. Like I could forget what's right and wrong and just do what needs to be done. I can be feeling romantic, soppy or down right sad but as soon as these power songs come on I just feel automatically different.

The aim of these musical journey posts are to try and understand music and the human emotion, I'd love to hear what you personally feel when listening to these types of songs.... here goes.

Tinie Tempah ft 2 Chainz - Trampoline

This makes me want to work out, it makes me work out which is strange. I hate working out and can barely manage 1 set of anything but putting this on and I become a twerking goddess. I don't get tired and I feel like a strong powerful woman. Does this make you work those twerks?

Kanye West - Black Skinhead

Taking away the swearing and racial aspects this song makes me feel strong, powerful and focused. I suppose tunnel vision to where I want to be, how does this song make you feel?

Let me know what you think guys,
