Aromatherapy Associates // Miniature Bath & Shower Oil Collection

Ten miniature bath and shower oils all housed in a cute Aromatherapy Associates box. It's the perfect little gift for anyone who takes their skincare or relaxation routine seriously, I being one of them. I've never been a huge fan of giving or receiving beauty gifts purely because their so specific to a person's own taste and it's the one type of gift that you can get so wrong so easily - kind of like gifting lingerie, it's wrong on so many levels unless you've been specifically asked to buy it.

This Bath & Shower Oil Collection however, is so unobtrusive and suits everyone - we all have skin that benefits from natural, luxurious oils and we all suffer from stress, sleep issues or a need to smell good at some point in our life don't we? If you're anything like me you'll prefer buying something that's going to be value for money while still feeling as though you've treated yourself; I'm so indecisive so prefer mini sizes or products that offer me a choice so this really ticks all of those boxes, the hardest part is deciding which of the nine mini oils to use first?

Each glass bottle hold 3 ml's of premium oils blended with essential oils which can directly or indirectly. While 3 ml's might not sound huge you'd be surprised at how far it actually goes - if you're choosing to add an oil to your bath for example you're only going to need a third at a time, each vial will do three baths so this gift set will last for nearly a month worth of daily baths. If you're choosing to add some of the oil to a nasal steamer or a bowl and towel steamer you'll literally need a few drops - as for applying directly to the skin each vial will last an age purely because the oils are so saturated the scent lasts all day whereas your £50 to £60 designer spirit based perfume, lasts a few hours at most. I also like to add a few drops to my moisturisers to apply before bed because the oils are released as your body warms meaning that you get your hydration boost as well as the full healing benefits of the oils blend.

At this time of year I go through far more AA oils than I do in summer as my skin is naturally drier, adding the oil to the moisturiser really works and saves me more money, anything with petitgrain is great for problematic skin and we like to add these blends to even our sons moisturisers - prior to buying this set my families favourite oils are the newer Inner Strength oils which are so gorgeous and the Renewing Rose oil which even my sons adore. Now though, we've added a few new favourites such as the Support Breathe (seasonal winner) and the Revive Evening oil.

There are two oils from Relax, De-Stress and Revive and three from the Support collection:

Relax Deep || Does what it says on the tin - relaxes you deeply making it the perfect addition for your evening bath or a few drops added to your pillow. Vetivert, Camomile and Sandalwood make this oil a naturally unisex and earthy scent.
Relax Light || If you're a great sleeper but just want that extra push or have children who need to wind down in the evening then this is your oil - lavender, ylang ylang and petitgrain soothe and relax the mind, the oils also work as a spiritual perfume which can be used in the oil burner or applied directly and the petitgrain is great as an extra hydration boost in your body lotion.

De-Stress Mind || Contains frankincense, petitgrain, wild camomile and rosemary and smells really herbal but nice. It's aim is to help focus your clarity but I definitely think it helps me to stay focussed on the task at hand.
De-Stress Muscle || Warms and soothes tight muscles with rosemary, black pepper, lavender and ginger, great for those lady aches and pains or if you're a sporty person whose muscles are literally needing to de-stress.

Revive Morning || Refreshes and invigorates with grapefruit, rosemary and juniper and helps to wake up the mind ready to start the day energised.
Revive Evening || If you like to head to events, parties or even just start or continue working late into the night Revive Energy is a great pick-me-up, it contains geranium, ylang-ylang, patchouli and sandalwood and is my favourite scent out of this collection, so much so I used (it's finished now so a repurchase is in order) this as my daily perfume for months.

Support Breathe || which is my new BFF. Apparently I've got a blocked sinus tube in one ear so this has helped get rid of that stuffed up feeling and face pain - I use it in my nasal steamer and we pop some of this oil into some hot water and leave it in our sons room before bedtime, it contains eucalyptus, pine, tea tree and peppermint so definitely clears your mind without stinging your eyes.
Support Lavender & Peppermint || Lavender to relax and unwind, peppermint to invigorate and awaken, this little oil has the dual benefits and is great for stuffy children who can't [or won't] sleep.
Support Equilibrium || This smells amazing! Geranium rose and frankincense can't fail to make you feel confident and happy.

The full sized oils cost £40 for a 55ml sized bottle, this miniature set costs £35 (full priced) for nine oils, it's especially great if there's one or two you'd love to test but don't want to drop money in case it's not what you expected, this way you can try out nine luxury oils for less and have the chance of finding a few favourites.

I purchased my gift set from the Aromatherapy Associates website (link). AA no longer have this set however because they've upgraded the gift box to a ten oil set so as a bonus you're going to receive Inner Strength Bath & Shower Oil also but for the same price *win-win* The Inner Strength scent is incredible, so much so Santa brought me the perfume rollerball (review coming soon guys).

OPI // Fifty Shades of Grey - Thoughts & News

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
It's Christmas Eve, who else is feeling the excitement?

We're finally settled for the holidays hubster unfortunately only has Christmas Day and Boxing Day off and I always feel so bad for those who have to work on the 25th - if this is you then I'm sending lots of virtual hugs your way. We've wrapped, prepped the food and have three surprisingly agitated but very well behaved little monsters.

There's so much hype about Fifty Shades brand - the novel went wild and everyone got a little bit randy didn't they? While I love books I never felt the need to delve into it's kinky pages because I didn't feel that any naughtiness was missing in my life so to speak - Even when friends and family members talked animatedly about the book and how amazing it was and how I should 'totally go buy it' I just never caved in; I did with Twilight but not Fifty Shades. Then there was news of a possible movie - and - that's when the fans became divided. The actors were cast, the fans disapproved, the star actor Charlie Hunnam opted out, the fans disapproved and then Jamie Dornan was cast as Christian and things changed somewhat, I still don't know if it's for the better or worse but it's due to be released in 2015 and you know what, I don't feel the pull to go see it.

While I just don't love the whole Fifty Shades bandwagon what I do love is the news of OPI launching a Fifty Shades Collection. The collection consists of cool grey tones and a saucy but sexy cream based red. Along with the full sized individual bottles there is a miniature collection due to launch which normally only contains a few of shades within a collection but this Mini Fifty Shades of Grey collection contains all six polishes *yay* I do love a good bargain and when it falls on New Year you can be sure to count me in.

The colours include:

Cement the Deal || I'd sign anything to get my hands on this stony, cool gray.
Dark Side of the Mood || This brooding, stormy charcoal is dangerously gorgeous.
Embrace the Gray || Let this chic, moody gray creme become one with you.
My Silk Tie || This silky, gleaming silver has got me all tied up.
Romantically Involved || I'm in a deep relationship with this luscious creme red.
Shine for Me || This shimmering silver with subtle blue sparkle really turns me on!

Although they're due to launch on January 1st 2015 they're available for pre-order right now over on Nailpolish Direct (link) and are priced at £9.50 each or £15.95 for the miniature collection.

So... do you feel the pull of the naughty Mr Christian Grey?

10 Christmas Gift Ideas || For Boys

Normally I'm super organised ahead of the festive season but this year I'm really feeling the stress and the struggles for a few reasons, the first is due to my house move that never happened at the last minute - putting a house (painting, flooring and organising) back together again during the festive season is just crazy- crazy I tell you and I don't recommend anyone try it…ever! My second reason is that my three sons are all at that in-between age where they believe they're 'big boys' so this means no Thomas The Tank, no Spiderman or light and sound toys - inside I'm heartbroken and confused because what are you suppose to get children who are at that in between stage? Having a serious sit down and think I realised they adore their gadgets and creative toys. They can't get enough of Youtube and music, they adore building Lego (who doesn't) and love to play their school friends on Xbox Live. I figured my dilemma would be something that many parents are going through or are going to go through in the next year or so and hopefully this post will inspire, or at least save you some brain-ache when that time comes.

With us being so close to Christmas I figured it's wise to look to shops that are close by and are trustworthy because it's too late in the game to be worrying about unreliable posting from bad brands. I've considered what would be popular, I've even sneakily interviewed my little monsters to gauge how interesting specific toys are and the winners seem to be anything by Apple,  Xbox consoles and games and Lego. What I will say is be a bit selfish if you're asking Santa to bring any of these gadgets because life can get very noisy - ask for earphones also. Tesco have some amazing House of Marley earphones which all three of my mites have specifically asked for and also Gear 4 Angry Birds earphones which are suited to both girls and boys.

Ipod 7th Generation | House of Marley Riddim Earphones | House of Marley Smile Earphones

Having secretly browsed the Tesco's website with my three little men under the precedence of 'adding to their Santa lists' they all think that the House of Marley Riddim Earphones and the House of Marley Smile Earphones are heads and shoulders above the others. They also each asked for a new 7th generation IPod - Cole would like the yellow, Cooper wants the blue and Rome wants the green colour, the different colours will definitely save hours of arguing over who's is who's.

These are excellent additions to any IPod and my sons have the older IPod which is really fantastic because there's some excellent learning apps, they can make their own music playlists and there's parental controls too which gives you peace of mind and the addition of the earphones gives you peace, it's a win-win.

Forza 5 Xbox One Game | Fife 15 Xbox One Game | Xbox One Console
Ferrari Racing Wheel Xbox One

These were already on my sons wish lists, I have two car lovers who can't get enough of car games and apparently The Crew is the latest must have game as you can alter your cars and race and I have one footballer who says Fife 15 is first on his list because it's going to be 'way better than Fifa 14' *sigh* I'll never understand these games but I do know they'll love them.

Finally there has to be some toy's because I'm not quite ready for them to let go of the creative toys yet.

Nerf Thunderbox Mega Blaster | Glow in the Dark Science | Lego City Police Station

Let's be honest even big kids are going to love these toys.

Lego's always so much fun because we all get involved when a new box of Lego comes into the home, as much as the boys try their hardest to build them on their own they always eventually rope me in- but - I secretly adore building legos and having fun with the boys. The same goes for the Glow in the Dark Science - I'm definitely someone who believes learning and education is priority, but "funess" is important too. These science sets combine both and are huge winners because kids don't even realise they're learning a new skill.

You can find all ten of these products and more over on the Tesco Direct website, surprisingly they have everything from slippers for your nan to toys for the kids and coffee makers for your other half. If you've not started your shopping then check out Tesco’s because you will get everything in one go which saves so much stress believe me - many of the ‘it’ toys are still available here too so check here before hitting Ebay as the touts are pricing everything brutally but be quick because many will sell out.
