Dermaco launched in June and I reviewed the Soothing Revival Balm in July. If you missed it you can check that post out here, this time however I've been thoroughly testing out the Collagen Cream.
You know me and how much I adore skincare, I've been very hormonal over the last few months and although I'm not normally someone who gets overly upset or overly angry I found myself getting very sentimental when I ran out of the Soothing Balm, I was absolutely gutted because I felt sure I had enough to get me through - it was that good! I never expected I would ever feel that sort of attachment to a beauty product of all things but strangely I did. The collagen cream had a lot to live up to but in all honestly knowing the brand I felt sure it was going to meet my high standards, once I tried it found it did.
The aims of this product are to relieve dryness, smooth fine lines, firm, tone and provide a natural barrier while improving the lipid content of the skin. The formula itself is thick cream, the cream isn't runny and if you apply a splodge to the hand for example it will stay put rather than run all over the place. It leaves the skin feeling soft straight away as it absorbs quickly leaving a silky smooth invisible layer that leaves me feeling comfortable - most other balms and creams tend to absorb too quickly leaving my skin feeling uncomfortably dry within the hour.
There are lots of amazing active ingredients in these products also, normally there's maybe one or two but check out the list:
- Rose Essential Oil - Rose gently tones the skin which provides strength for the collagen elastin in the skin.
- Geranium Essential Oil - Geranium is a soothing oil, it's highly antibacterial and is fantastic for combination or problematic skin types.
- Evening Primrose Oil - High levels of Omega-6, Gamma Lineolic Acid these fatty acids helps to repair the skin as well as provide deep hydration. Those with acne, scarring or hormonal side effects will all reap the benefits, especially with this oil.
- Blackcurrant Seed Oil - Amazing oil which treats so many conditions. With the skin, it provides anti-inflammatory benefits as well as healing deep within the skin cells.
- Shea Butter - One of the best butter to provide natural moisture to the skin. Not suited for nut allergies though.
- Marine Collagen - Collagen is vital to healthy skin and it gives us the plumped up youthful appearance we have when we're younger. Marine Collagen comes from fish scales so this won't be suitable for vegans.
- Cassia Alata Leaf Extract - This is known to cure serious skin problems such as scabies, ulcers, eczema, ringworm, hives and fungal conditions. Alongside its ability to rid the skin of these conditions it also has fantastic anti-ageing properties and is an excellent addition to this cream.
- Oligosaccharide Complex - This is used to treat damaged or fragile skin, offering support and protection.
- Sodium Hyaluronate - Also known as hyaluronic acid this ingredient is getting major media attention. As we age the skin loses the amount of hyaluronic acid we have which leads to ageing skin. This is a potent anti-ageing ingredient which leaves you with fresher, healthier skin in the long term.
- Natural Betaines - Another anti-ageing power player.
