Debenhams // Winter Style Challenge

I recently read that two awesome bloggers were hosting a style competition alongside Debenhams. VIPXO and Girl In The Lens posted the deets on their blog and while this ends tomorrow I had to get my entry in. The challenge was to style two outfits. If you want to get in on the act (be super quick) I've posted the information below with their links.

* Party Outfit : Perfect for grown-up glam events or date nights with the man *

Party Time
Nails Inc Black Taxi Polish (£11) // Coast Isadora Shoes (£45) // Betty Jackson Bangle (£10) // Jasper Conran Stud Earrings (£16) // Faith Studden Clutch (£23.20) // Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick (£11.75) // Coast Harper Dress (£69) // Outfit Total - £185.95

I love this dress because it's so sophisticated, it has sparkle and can be teamed up with so many colours and textures. I opted for a black and gold palette because it oozes grown up sophistication, I love the gothic edge to it via the Nails Inc polish and those shoes are simply to die for. The accessories were parred down just so the dress could do the talking but to save it from becoming bland I opted for a fuchsia pink YSL lippie - so swoonable isn't it.

* Winter Warmer: The perfect winter outfit to go for hot chocolate with the girls *

Winter Warmers
Nails Inc Tate Polish (£11) // Artdeco Lipstick (£11.25) // Jasper Conran 100 denier Cashmere Tights (£12.50) // Clarks Leather Boots (£80) // John Rocha Cashmere Scarf (£14) // Oasis Leopard Skater Dress (£20) // Alice & You Fluffy Cardigan (£35.99) // Outfit total - £184.74

While I could have gone down the route of jeans and jumpers I always seem to crave day dresses and thick tights when the snow starts to fall. Maybe it's because it's not as easy to whip out the dress and naked legs. I wanted to choose an outfit that was warm but still quite feminine and trendy, going for coffee or hot chocolate with the girls I want to look a bit more put together and would absolutely wear this. The dress has long sleeves and doesn't show too much skin but the leopard print and skater shape stop it from becoming too dowdy. The thick cashmere tights will keep your legs cosy and the boots are leather and short so can be teamed with a dress like this - I also love the colour comparison between the dress and leather.

The fluffy cardigan was another layer that added to the cute but fashionable edge and the cashmere scarf is a must if you're heading out of the door. To give it some 'wow' I opted for my favourite shape of lippie and polish - True red!! the whole look is fun, cute but pretty damn hot!

If you want in on this action the rules are that you've to create two outfits that cost under £250. The outfits created have to be 'Winter Warmers' and a party outfit. The closing date is tomorrow (13th) so you best be quick. Just create your two outfits then send the links to the two deciding judges who are VIPXO here and Girl In The Lens here
