The Colour Scheme
When you are first setting up your relaxing room, you need to think about the colour scheme. Make sure not to choose bold colours that are going to change your mood. You will want relaxing pale colours that will help you feel better. If you can’t afford to redecorate, consider adding some tapestries or curtains that cover any sort of bold colours or distractions in the room.
Electronics
The first thing that you need to think about is how easily distracted you get by your electronics. If you want to totally relax and get away from work and all other distractions, then you need to make your relaxation room an electronic-free space. Place your phone in another room and add a clock to the wall so that you can keep track of time when you are in there. You’ll like this mini detox you get every time you enter your relaxation room.
Art
Want something to look at when you are in your relaxation room? Why not invest in some fine art prints or canvases for your room? Fine Art America has some great pieces with many different types of art. You’ll find relaxing pieces on there as well as motivational posters. Think about adding some art to help the room feel more relaxing and you’ll love spending time there.
Music
People like to relax in different ways and if music helps you then you should think about how you are going to add this to your room. Don’t listen to music on your phone as you are only going to get distracted by emails and phone calls. Why not invest in a record player or some Bluetooth speakers that you can have playing from your phone in a different room? Choose the music that relaxes you whether that’s jazz, classical or even the sound of the ocean.
Candles
The final thing that you should consider when creating your relaxing room is to add candles. Many people use candles to relax as they give off a good aroma and are relaxing to look at. Shop around and find a scent that works for you – there are so many different types that you’ll probably want to buy a few!
